You should be able to select the PDF and save it directly from the Adobe program, however, if there is a problem with the Science Direct server then try the following:
When you are at the Table of Contents for the desired journal, don't open the PDF. Instead right click on the link to the PDF (if you are using a PC). If you are using a Mac, use Control /Click .
Then choose Save Link As ...
Save to your desktop or wherever you want. It will save it as a PDF.
